According to reports, Allu Arjun has agreed to play the lead in director Mahi V Raghav‘s upcoming film, which is likely to be produced by Prasad V Potluri.

Allu Arjun has signed a new project, set to be directed by Mahi R Raghav of Yatra fame.

The Duvvada Jagannadham star, who has been keeping himself busy in the lockdown by listening to scripts, recently met director Mahi R Raghav and discussed the possibilities of collaborating for a project. The actor was quite impressed with the idea that was pitched to him and immediately agreed to be a part of the film.

The film is said to be a political thriller, based on real incidents that happened in the recent past. Prasad V Potluri has expressed his interest to bankroll Mahi’s project with Allu Arjun. An official announcement is likely to be made once Allu Arjun resumes his shoot for Pushpa, a film he is working on with director Sukumar.

On Allu Arjun’s birthday (April 8), the makers of Pushpa released the first-look poster and title of the film, which became a huge hit on the internet. The film is about red sandalwood smugglers and their livelihood.

Rashmika Mandanna, who was last seen in Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru has been roped in as the female lead.

Earlier, it was reported that Vijay Sethupathi has been roped in to play the antagonist in Pushpa. However, in one of his recent interviews, the actor clarified he is not part of the project. He also revealed that he couldn’t take up the film due to date issues.
