One of the two Call of Duty: Warzone developer teams will be helping Treyarch develop the recently confirmed Call of Duty: 2020.

Activision held a Q2 earnings call earlier today, where it revealed new information concerning the next Call of Duty game. After all of the rumors and speculation surrounding the title, Activision has not only confirmed that Call of Duty 2020 is happening, but it also announced another developer is working with Treyarch on the upcoming installment. It happens to be a co-developer on Call of Duty: Warzone.

According to the call, Raven Software will assist Treyarch Studios with the upcoming Call of Duty 2020 — rumored to be titled Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War by Doritos. Treyarch developed all of the mainline Call of Duty: Black Ops titles, and Raven helped co-develop Call of Duty: Warzone alongside Infinity Ward.

Both Treyarch Studios and Raven Software followed up this confirmation today on social media. The duo took to Twitter to inform fans that they were working together on the next Call of Duty title and that they were excited to share more information with everyone. Their tweets don’t say much else, but fans may get a major update on their project tomorrow through Warzone.

During the Q2 call, Activision heavily implied that it would reveal Call of Duty 2020 through Call of Duty: Warzone. Activision president Robert Kostich said that Warzone has caused the company to rethink how, when, and even where the company reveals its upcoming titles. He went on to say that the reveal Activision has planned will be very different and engaging.

Warzone‘s Season 5 launches in only a few hours. The update plans to change up its Verdansk map in a few drastic ways, and lately, players have been finding all sorts of interesting things across the map, such as bunkers with nukes. The map changes are supposed to tie Warzone into the next Call of Duty title, so more information on Treyarch and Raven’s project will likely come tomorrow.

Activision also confirmed that Call of Duty 2020 would release sometime during the publisher’s fourth quarter, which takes place between October and December. Activision has never waited for this late in the year to announce the development of a Call of Duty title. It usually happens during May or June.

It’s almost a guarantee that Call of Duty 2020 will launch on the PS4 and Xbox One, but it’s unclear if it will release on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X as well. It’s very likely that it will, though, since it shares the same release window. Activision would certainly want to capitalize on the hype behind the next-generation consoles to attract the most players.

Call of Duty 2020 is in development.
