Vi says with this offer, it will be providing benefits of up to Rs. 294 crores to its low-income group users.

After Airtel and Jio, the third most important telecom company is India has now announced offers for COVID relief in the country. Vodafone-Idea, which operates under the abbreviated Vi, has announced that it will provide a special relief offer to “over 60 million low income customers” in the country. “With this Vi is hopeful of enabling its customers to stay connected safely, and have access to all necessary information in these challenging times,” the company said in a press release. Competitors Airtel and Jio had announced similar offers last week.

What are Vi’s COVID relief offers?

Like Airtel and Jio, Vi too is offering two different packs for customers. The first is a pack that will be available for free, while the second is a combo voucher that offers special benefits for customers.

  • The first is a Rs. 49 pack, which will be available for free. It offers talktime worth Rs. 38 and 100MB data, and will be valid for 28 days. The company claims this offer will bring benefits worth Rs. 2940 million to low income group users in the country.
  • On the other hand, the second offer is a Combo Voucher called RC79 that will bring benefits like Double Talktime of Rs. 128 (64+64) and 200MB data. This will be valid for 28 days and both offers will be available for a limited period of time.

What are Airtel and Jio offering?

Airtel’s offers are actually exactly the same as Vi’s. The company announced a Rs. 49 pack, which will be available to “over 55 million customers” for free, which gives talk time worth Rs. 38 and 100MB of data. This is exactly the same as the first pack offered by Vi, and both the companies called the pack a “gesture” that allows users to stay connected during the pandemic.

The company’s second offer is similar too, and offers Double Benefits to Airtel Prepaid customers who buy the Rs. 70 recharge coupon. The plan usually gives them talktime worth Rs. 63.95 and 200MB of data, and will be doubled now.

On the other hand, Jio’s offers are applicable for JioPhone users and include 300 minutes of free minutes for outgoing calls per month, which can be availed at 10 minutes per day. It’s second offer is a double benefits offer like Airtel and Vi, and is applicable for the Rs. 75 recharge pack.
