Alen Babic had just three fights as he headed into the ring to face Shawndell Winters. However, it didn’t even take him that many rounds to finish off the much more experienced Winters.

The two heavyweights collided in the second fight of the night that is headlined by Dillian Whyte vs Alexander Povetkin. The fight between the Croatian and the American had a lot of hype around it. This was due to the heated press conference exchange that took place a couple of days back.

‘The Savage’ pushed the pace right from the starting bell. It was a left hook from Babic that sent Winters on the rope. The 34-year old wobbled throughout the round. The condition became more adverse for him as Babic kept coming forward. The referee had to step in after another flurry of punches sent the Winters to the rope in the second round.

The win continued the streak for Babic where he is yet to see the third round in his professional career. A protege of Dillian Whyte, the 29-year old is off to an explosive start to his professional career.

Alen Babic calls out Filip Hrgovic following his victory

After making short work of Winters, Babic took to the mic where he challenged his fellow Croat, Filip Hrgovic.

This is my approach. One or two rounds,” Babic told Sky Sports Box Office. “My fights won’t go past three rounds. I am different.”

“I have a guy in mind, he’s from my country. Filip Hrgovic! He was calling me out. I don’t like him. I want to fight him,” Babic added.

Hrgovic is a former Olympic bronze medalist who turned pro in 2017. In his ten professional fights, he is yet to witness a defeat. His most recent outing came against Eric Molina in December 2019.
