People can fly reveals The new trailer for Outriders has arrived along with a release date for the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Time to get hyped!

The new trailer for Outriders has arrived revealing a hostile alien planet, a co-op shooter with magic powers, and a release window for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles.

From the developer that gave you Painkiller, Gears of War 2, and Bulletstorm comes Outriders, a new co-op shooter for one to three players. The game was initially announced at last year’s E3 with a dramatic trailer that gave us a tantalizing glimpse at the game’s gritty sci-fi world, although it didn’t give us much in terms of information.

Today’s trailer gives us our first real taste of what to expect in Outriders. The game takes place on an alien planet where humanity has fled the ecological collapse of Earth. There, survivors of a crashed spacecraft discover that the planet is home to deadly aliens and a mysterious force that gives humans the power to summon fire, ice, and electricity.

And of course, there are guns. Lots and lots of guns.

Outriders is a co-op shooter for 1-3 players. People Can Fly bill it as a “drop-in-drop-out” co-op shooter, meaning the game will allow anyone to join a game in progress and the difficulty should scale with the number of players.

Other than that, you’re a typical badass trying to survive on a hostile alien world where both people and monsters are trying to kill you. Add in a few friends, an RPG system with four unique classes, and upgradable and moddable guns, and you’ve got a recipe for success.

The real news with Outriders is that this might just be the first game to confirm it will release on the next generation of consoles. We already know that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will hit store shelves sometime this holiday season, and Outriders will be arriving along with it. Of course, it’ll also be available for the previous-gen consoles (PS4, Xbox One) as well as PC via Steam.

We’ll get a gameplay preview on Thursday, February 13th where we’ll be sure to get more details on the ins and outs of how Outriders will work, plus some sweet new in-game footage.
