Speculation around OnePlus smartphones just don’t stop even when were expected to see a phone launch from the company only sometime in Q2 2020.

Similar to what we’ve seen from OnePlus earlier this year, 2020 is likely to see a OnePlus 8 and a OnePlus 8 Pro duo launch sometime in the month of May or June. But as per a fresh crop of images shared in a post on Weibo, the more premium OnePlus 8 Pro will likely feature a punch-hole camera on the front, similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S10 Plus.

A separate image from the same post also shows off the back of the phone which suggests that the OnePlus 8 Pro might come with a vertical camera lineup like the OnePlus 7T Pro and it will not feature a circular camera module, that a lot of people hated on the OnePlus 7T.

Although, the post clearly mentions that these are prototype images of the phone, it’s quite likely that the final phone coming out in May next year, will not look like this. However, the presence of a punch-hole display on the upcoming OnePlus 8 Pro was also hinted by a few earlier renders, which does add more weight to this bit of information, but then again, we’re currently a long way from launch.

As per speculation, the OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to feature a 6.5-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone will likely be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. It is being expected that there will be a quad-camera setup on the back with a 64 MP or 108 MP primary camera surrounded by an ultrawide angle camera, a 3x optical telephoto zoom camera and another camera of unknown resolution.

The OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to sport 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage on the base variant.
